Relationship-centered telehealth counseling

Counseling Services for Huntsville, North Alabama, and Alabama

Shepherding Hope provides intentional, evidence-informed counseling services for adolescents and adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction-related concerns, and life transitions.

Telehealth availability: Shepherding Hope is currently a 100% telehealth practice. Counseling services are provided to clients who are physically located in Alabama at the time of each session, subject to applicable law, clinical appropriateness, and availability. Clients must accurately identify their physical location at each session. There is no in-person office appointment option at this time.

The practice is designed to offer a steady, collaborative alternative to rushed, high-volume care—fostering long-term personal growth with compassionate, client-centered care tailored to your specific goals and clinical needs rather than delivered through a one-size-fits-all model.

Who May Be a Fit for Counseling Services?
Shepherding Hope may be appropriate for adolescents and adults who are:
  • Seeking outpatient counseling services rather than emergency or inpatient care
  • Physically located in Alabama during each session
  • Navigating anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, or major life transitions
  • Exploring addiction recovery or co-occurring mental-health and substance-use concerns
  • Seeking support related to military service, veteran identity, or reintegration
  • Interested in a collaborative, relationship-centered counseling process
Clinical fit is considered individually

The practice primarily serves adolescents and adults. For younger children, clinical fit is considered individually. When play therapy or another child-centered service is more appropriate, a referral may be recommended.

A consultation does not guarantee that services will be initiated. Fit depends on the client’s needs, the practice’s scope, availability, applicable law, and clinical appropriateness.

A Steady, Collaborative Counseling Approach

Counseling at Shepherding Hope is relationship-centered and informed by established clinical approaches. Depending on the client’s goals and clinical fit, sessions may draw from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed interventions, and grounding strategies.

The work may include identifying patterns, clarifying goals, developing practical coping skills, strengthening communication, and considering how relationships and circumstances affect emotional and behavioral health. Specific counseling services and interventions are determined individually during the clinical process.

Faith integration may be discussed when requested by the client. It is optional and is not required to receive services.
